Growing Agent Orange: flowering time, yield and breeder specs

Seed versions of Agent Orange flower in about 55–65 days, Leafly gives 55 days, and the plant is tall: the TGA-era description says it tops 10 feet outdoors in northern California. Yields are heavy but arrive late, and growers are told to top and train it into a bush.1,2,3,4

What the plant is like

Expect a tall, stretching plant that builds large, flat-topped colas and dense, resinous buds, with two described phenotypes: one short and thick, one taller and more resinous.1,3 MzJill describes resinous, spear-shaped colas and foliage that can turn burgundy to almost black on some phenotypes; the TGA-era description and Leafly both note maroon and purple pigments, which the breeder description ties to cool nights.1,4,5

What to watch for

Timing. The TGA-era description says the very heavy yield comes “all in last weeks”, and Wikileaf says the buds fill out in the final two weeks, so an early harvest costs most of the crop; both say to top and train the plant.1,8 None of the sources we opened says anything about mold or pest resistance.

Seeds and the law in the US

Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.9 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.10 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
